John Hood serves as the Lead Pastor of Sunrise Bible Church, where he is passionate about teaching the Word of God faithfully and shepherding God’s people toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sunrise Bible Church has been Pastor John’s church home since 2015 and the place where God has shaped his calling to ministry. He began serving as a deacon in 2021, was appointed Chairman of the Deacons in 2022, and later served as Associate Pastor in 2025 before being called to the role of Lead Pastor. Having faithfully served in various leadership capacities within the church body, Pastor John brings a deep love, commitment, and understanding of the Sunrise congregation.

John has received academic training through Tyndale Theological Seminary, where he continues to learn and grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. He is committed to sound, biblical teaching and to the ongoing development of both personal faith and church leadership.

John’s theology and philosophy of ministry center on the authority of Scripture and the mandate to “equip the saints for the work of ministry.” He believes the church is called to rightly teach the whole Word of God, fostering unity within the body as believers pursue the Lord Jesus Christ together, growing in knowledge of Him and His coming Kingdom.

John is married to his wife, Rhonda, and together they are blessed with three children and two grandchildren. He considers it a joy and privilege to serve the Sunrise Bible Church family and looks forward to what the Lord will continue to do in and through Sunrise Bible Church.
